The results are non-binding estimates for guidance only. What counts is your bill, your contract and your supplier's prices.

How it is calculated

For both tariffs: annual costs = consumption × unit price + 12 × standing charge. A one-off bonus is only deducted from the first year. The saving is the difference compared with the current tariff.

If the saving from the second year is negative, the offer is only cheaper because of the bonus. In that case, compare again in good time before the initial term ends.

  • Check the bonus conditions: it is often only paid after 12 months of supply.
  • Also compare the price guarantee, contract term and notice period.

Worked example: 2,500 kWh of electricity

Current tariff: 40 ct/kWh and a standing charge of €14 a month – that is €1,168 a year. New tariff: 33 ct/kWh and a standing charge of €13 – that is €981 a year. The saving is €187 a year. With a €100 bonus, the household saves €287 in the first year, and then €187 a year after that.

  • Current tariff per year: €1,168.00
  • New tariff from the second year: €981.00
  • Savings from the second year: €187.00

Frequently asked questions

Is it worth switching just for the bonus?

Sometimes, if you switch again after the first year. In the long term, a tariff is only worth it if it is also cheaper without the bonus.

What happens to my old contract?

The new supplier usually cancels it for you. You only need to keep an eye on the notice period; we check it for you.

How accurate is the saving?

It is correct if your consumption and the prices stay the same. If your consumption changes, or the price changes after a price guarantee ends, the saving also changes.
